Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

What form do I file to close a family trust estate in CA

I would like to know what I need to file with the State to finalize the closure of

my Mother's estate/trust. The beneficiaries are ready to close it up.

Thanks,

Kassie

Re: What form do I file to close a family trust estate in CA

at a minimum, this depends first upon whether or not probate was required (for assets not titled in the name of the trust and subject to probate with a value in excess of $100,000 or any real propery with a gross value of more than $20,000). next, a federal estate tax return may be required. finally, the estate and/or any irrevocable trusts created by the will or trust are required to file federal and state income tax returns. other issues may also arise relating to transfer of assets to the beneficiaries. you should retain an attorney.
