Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Which form should I use
I'm helping my father, who is a widower, make a will. I don't know which for to use because he and his deceased wife have adult children but not together.

The best help you could offer is for him to see a qualified attorney.
Re: Which form should I use
Aside from the fact that using an attorney instead of some canned form is both wise and cost-effective, your selecting a form for someone else to use to make a will constitutes your practicing law without a license, or more to the point, practicing law without your being qualified to do so.

To ensure that your father's estate plan actually accomplishes his goals, a qualified attorney should be retained to develop the plan and prepare the documents (it is likely that other basic estate planning documents are appropriate for your father).
