You may be named in the trust as a successor fiduciary, a benefiiciary or in some other manner. You would also be named if you are a relative. Why not call the trustee and ask?

The notice is mailed to everyone who is named as a beneficiary of the trust, and also everyone who would have inherited your friend's assets if he or she died before you, and also the trustees named in the trust even if you aren't one of them. Call the trustee and ask for a copy of the trust document. Then, if you can't figure out from the trust document what you are getting, review the trust with an attorney.
