Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

A friend, whom I knew for over 30 years recently passed away. I knew he made a trust and I believe that I was in it. He told me so over 10 years ago. The executor is his nephew and neither he nor his attorney will give me a copy.

They say it is none of my business but I took care of him for the last years of his life and they were not even in the picture.

I don't know the correct terminology but should I hire an attorney to write some kind of demand letter for a copy of the trust or can a paralegal do this. I don't have much money and it might not be worth the time. I would just like to see it.

You can write a letter yourself. If you are not mentioned in the trust, the trustee does not have to give you a copy. If so, he does. His attorney has most likely advised him of this, so perhaps you are not in the trust.
