Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

How do you fund a bypass trust with a portion of real estate (primary residence) after the death of a spouse? Does the real estate need to be retitled into two deeds?

No, one deed can transfer (for example) "one-half undivided share to John Doe, as Trustee of the Survivor's Trust and one-half undivided share to John Doe, as Trustee of the Bypass Trust."
