Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Good Morning,

My husband and I have been married for 30 years, but separated for 10 years. He still lives in the home we purchased in 1979.

If I quick claim the home to him will I still have rights in the home?

Does he have the right to will the home to whom ever he please ?

By quitclaiming the home to your separated husband, you are giving up all of your ownership rights to the house and all that accompanies ownership. There might be other ways to accomplish whatever it is you are trying to do. You might want to speak with an attorney about your options. Usually, real property is a person's biggest asset, and it's worth getting legal advice before giving up your rights.
