Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Here's a good one...anybody know the answer?
A barn is considered real property.
When a barn ages, then falls into a pile of splinters,
does it change from real property to personal property?
I actually want the wood of this very old barn!
Thank You

Real property is defined as land, and things that are physically attached to the land. Wear gloves.

Whether it is considered real property or personal property doesn't make it your property. You should probably check with the landowner to find out if you can take it.

Once it is no longer "affixed" to the land, it becomes personal property, but that just makes it personal property of the land owner.
