Grandma sold property that was in will, and money was spent now executor wants t

Grandma had her house listed in the will which was suppose to be divided between the children, but she sold the house. She spent the money and now that she has passed the executor wants to know where the money is so it can be divided. The money was spent on a truck for a grandson and living expenses. The heirs want the money from the sale of the house and it is gone. what to do?

Just because grandma put the house in the will doesn't automatically give the beneficiaries the right of ownership. She has every right to sell the house and spend the money. I hope she went on a cruise with part of it.

Whether or not the heirs have any right to the left over funds would depend on the wording in the will. My suggestion to those waiting for grandma's money is to go out and earn your own.
