Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My grandmother passed away last week and my brother is the executor of her will. At this time we do not speak and I would like to obtain a copy of her will. If I request a copy of the will is he obligated to forward me a copy? Also I belive my children are listed in the will as benificieries. What is the best way to obtain a copy ??

Anyone who might have a right to inherit under the Will is legally entitled to a copy. Ask him politely on behalf of your children or have one of your children ask, pointing out that they are legally entitled to a copy.

There is a legal requirement that the will be submitted to probate. Make sure he does that and you can get a copy from the court. If he fails to do so, you can open probate yourself and obtain an order for the will to be deposited with the court.
