Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My Grandmothers will

My Grandmother passed away a

month ago. Before she passed away I

was the last person who had visited

her. During the visit she told me

there was a will and told me

information regarding the will.

My father found a will and it didnt

have any of the info that my

grandmother told me that should be

in there. I spoke to my dad and he

said this is the will there is no other

will. 2-3 weeks later they find

another will more up to date and its

more similiar to what my

grandmother and I talked about.

I still believe there is another will out

there because the latest will we fund

includes 7 people, the will my

grandmother and i talked about 3

weeks before her death only included

3 people! How do i obtain or find this

will!! We have contacted the lawyer

who made out the 2 wills... but after

finding the firt will and then

contacting him he said that the 1st

wil was the only one. Pleae help me

!!! how do i find my grandmas latest

will??

Re: My Grandmothers will

I'm very sorry about your grandmother's death.

Wills are not recorded anywhere before someone passes away, so no one can tell you how to find it if your grandmother didn't tell you where she had stored it.

Occasionally our local county Bar Association will e-mail a request asking us to contact them if any of us have prepared a will for a certain person who passed away. You might contact the county bar association in the county where your grandmother lived and ask if they will e-mail their members.

You might also check with her bank and find out if she had a safe deposit box. They are required to let you search the box for a will.
