Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
How would my grandpa go about adding my name to his house title? Is there any fees in which I will have to pay such as taxes or anything?

He would prepare and execute a quitclaim deed from him to him and you, either jointly or as tenants in common. It's best that he consult with a CPA and attorney before doing anything.

He needs to prepare a deed that adds your name, either as a joint tenant or a tennant in common. The deed needs to be notarized and then recorded. As Robert advises, however, he should consult with an accountant or attorney to be sure of the tax impact, if any. Your grandfather also needs to understand all of the ramifications of adding you onto the title to his house.
