Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Do my grandparents need to change their will?

My grandparents have 5 kids and their will gives the youngest the house and the car. The rest of the estate is to be split between all five siblings. Last year they sold the house and the youngest was already given the car (which he wrecked and totaled). My question is, does the will need to be re-written since they no longer own a house or car, Or will the estate simply be split between the five heirs as is?

Re: Do my grandparents need to change their will?

this depends upon the language in the will related to the specific bequests.

they should consult a qualified estate planning attorney to also consider whether or not to avoid probate by using a revocable trust and prepare for incapacity by using durable powers of attorney and advance health care directives.
