Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

granma's will

granma left my son, 29 years old an amount of about $500.00 from her fed credit union, they told him to fill out all these papers and return they now say she had other bills, she left him as her benificiary on the papers ACERA sent, we have a copy of the death certificate not the will. my son was in College in NY when she died. its been about 8 months since they toldm him of his $500.00 they won't send yet, Can you advise? much thanks

Ask them why they will not sent the money yet. If the bills were part of his account and they have a provision then can use funds in the account to pay of bills,then you have little you can do.
