Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
My great grandfather had left a trust to my grandpa that was supposed to be switched over to my dad the day before he passed away. They did not go through a probate because it was a trust. My grandfather won't tell us what was in the trust and we do not have a clue on how to look at what was included in it because he will not show us any paper work or tell us the lawyer my great grandfather went through to make everything. Is there any way we would have the right to look at it, or find a way to look at what was included in the trust?

The beneficiaries of a trust have the right to receive a copy of the trust instrument when it becomes irrevocable, from the serving trustee. It becomes irrevocable when the original settlor/ trustor dies. If you are a beneficiary, you will want to request, in writing, a copy of the trust instrument from the currently serving trustee.
