Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My Great Grandmother was an artist (not famous) who passed away in 1990 and I want to sell prints of some of her work. Can I do this legally?

Unless they were transferred before she died, the rights to your Great Grandmother's art work became part of her estate when she died. The only person(s) who can legally exploit those rights are the person(s) who received those rights from her estate. You should check with the executor of your Great Grandmother's estate, or with the lawyer who handled the estate, to see who owns those rights. Unless it was you, you will need to acquire those rights before you can legally sell prints of her work.
