Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

greedy uncle

grandmother died a year ago i was notified that she died 8 months later i got a letter saying i was in a living trust and when my grandfather died i would be notified. Well a month ago my grandfather passed away and i think my uncle has 60 days to notify me of what was in the trust but he told my dad that he was going to wait a year before he was going to do anything. Today he called me and told me he bought a $10,000 motorcycle. The funny thing is that he hasen't worked for years, I DON'T TRUST HIM what should i do?

Re: greedy uncle

You can make a demand for a copy of the trust agreement. If you suspect your uncle is playing fast and loose you may be able to remove him as successor trustee if you get the agreement of enough of the other beneficiaries. Otherwise you can sue for an accounting. As a fiduciary, the law is very strict agaisnt self dealing or breach of fiduciary duty.
