Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Guardian Ad Litem ... $compensable?

In California, when a minor receives an award from a third party wrongful death (of a parent) lawsuit, and the other (living) parent has been serving as the Guardian Ad Litem but is not a party to the action, is that other parent entitled to receive some kind of reimbursement for acting as such when that other parent has spent years working with the system trying to obtain the award for the child?

If they are entitled to something, from whom or where would that reimbursement or fee come and when could that GAL expect to receive these funds?

No. The settlement or recovery belongs to the child and must be held in a fiduciary account until the child is 18 years old.
