Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

guardianship

My ex-husband died a month ago. The step-mother and grandmother have filed for guardianship. My son was not taken from me, I let him go live with his father. Can these women take away my maternal rights to chose how my child is raised? I am not a bad parent or person. I only let my child spend time with his father and now he is gone so he needs to come back. Any advice?

Re: guardianship

This really is a family law question and you would do better to post it to that forum. However, I they are probably going to recommend to you that you, as the biological parent of your child, are most likely his legal guardian and should be able to get custody (unless there is extenuating circumstances). You need to hire an attorney and get on this immediately.
