A bond is required for the amount of the policy payout, or you can open a "blocked account" at a bank instead. The blocked account requires no bond because the money can't come out without a court order.

the insurance company can require a guardianship of your daughter's estate rather than accepting other possible alternatives. you should retain an attorney to provide advise and file a petition with the court as necessary.
