Yes, they are legal. I don't believe witnesses are actually needed by if there are two or more witnesses and your air should be able to admit the will into court without any further proof that it is your signature. It is not necessary that the witnesses read the will or even that they see you signed. All you really need to do a show the witnesses your signature on the will, tell them that it is your signature and that you understand that it was a will you signed. Then have the witnesses signed the will as witnesses.
