What if your husband dies and he has life insurance and if his deceased wife is the beneficiary who does it get paid to?

I'm afraid the ex wife would get it. Life insurance proceeds unless the named beneficiary is "the estate of [insured person]" the proceeds are paid outside of the estate process and go to whomever is named beneficiary.
