Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Husband passed away

My husaband has three credit cards in his name only and I wanted to know if I have to pay his credit cards now that he passed away? Do I just send them the death certificate?

Re: Husband passed away

Yes, go ahead and send the death certificate. If your husband was insolvent when he passed, tell the credit card company, they will likey go away.

Re: Husband passed away

Well, technically it depends. If he used his credit cards to pay for common necessaries of life, then the Community is responsible. Otherwise not, unless the credit was applied for and accepted jointly.

Try the latter approach and see what happens.

I'm sorry about your husband's passing.
