my husband of three years recently passed away. are possessions he had prior to our marraige now mine or should they go to his surviving son? i am reffering to a golf cart husband had fot twenty years.

Community property goes to the surviving spouse. Property that was the deceased sole and separate property is divided between spouse and other heirs according to a formula in the Probabe Code. Since a golf cart cannot be divided, unless any other claimants are willing to let one heir have it, it will have to be sold and the proceeds divided per the Code.
