Inheritance

Can the State of California stop or delay someone from receiving an imheritance? Do they have anything period to do with an individual's inheritance? Thank you.

In most cases, no, and I've never seen this happen. However, the state may try to lien the inheritance if, for example, taxes were owed or the decedent or beneficiary were recipients of Medi-Cal aid.
