Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I inherited money .

I was an heir to a trust . I was notified by the trust 5 months ago

of this fact and I failed to contest the trust. I have not received

my check as of yet.

Another heir got an atty and contested the trust. Now I would like to too .

Is it too late for me to contest and try to get more money

after I failed to protest in 5 months ???

Re: I inherited money .

You need to determine whether you get more money via the trust [you would be a beneficiary, an heir is for a Will]or otherwise. You should also talk to the other person who has sued and find out why he has done so. Contact the person in charge of the trust to see when you will get a check. And go to an attorney because you clearly will need one to attack a trust. The attorney representing the other person would probably have a conflict in interest in representing you also.

No. But, most trusts have a provision that disinherits anyone who contests a trust and is unsuccessful. So, keep that in mind.
