Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I inherited my parents home back in 2005, since then, I never had anyone other than my children and family members live with me. As of three weeks ago, my boyfriend moved in and now my sister and brother are trying to tell me that he should not be living there. The house is in my name. If they should come and give me problems, can I tell them to leave my property? Do they have the right to tell me who I can have living with me?

Your question would require more information to answer. If you received the home outright as the sole owner in fee simple, then they have no right to tell you who can live there. If you share ownership as Joint tenant or tenant in common with your brother and sister, there could be some issues with him living there. Ultimately, you would need to provide more information on how you own the home, i.e., how it was titled.

Hopefully this is helpful.

If the house is in your name solely, then they have no business telling you who can and cannot live there.
