Inherited property
I inherited a rental property from my mother in November 2006. She had a contractual agreement with her tenant and collected $2000 security deposit two years ago. The tenant gave notice this month. Am I responsible for this dept to the tenant OR is it my mother's expense (since she received the income and signed the rental contract) and should be paid by the trust? A bank account has been set up and funded with her bank accounts held in trust. Is there any California law that can be referenced? Thank you for answering this question.
