Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

irrevocable family trust

Is it advisable to create a irrevocable family trust by buying the software thru internet?

It is a divorced woman with 4 adult children and the only asset is a principal residence.

Appreciate your input, thank you

Kathleen

Re: irrevocable family trust

No. First of all, I am pretty sure you do not want/need an irrevocable trust; you probably need a simple revocable living trust so the house won't have to be probated after your death. Second, you want to make sure your trust and pour-over Will comply with the laws of your state, California. Consult a local attorney or use a publication for the layperson from a reputable publisher, such as Nolo Press if you must DIY.
