Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Should there be an itemized list of estate items?
My mother passed away almost 1 yr ago. My sister won the position of being the administrator, because my attorney said the judge said that we ''Fight'' to much and I am in another state, although I was willing to come to CA and be co-admin. Anyways, my mother had MANY valuable items in her estate and there was never an itemized list made up. Just the amount of 8,200 was what the contents of her estate were worth. My sister is now presuring me to pick items I would like from the estate, now that she has taken everything she wanted and I have never gotten a list. Should there have been a list? My attorney does not like to give me straight out answers, but prefers to play games with me. I feel as though I am getting lied to left and right and would like to know what is really going on. I know the contents were worth WAY more than 8,200 but everytime I tell my attorney he does not seem willing to do anything about it. I feel that he is just looking to be paid for work that is not done. What should I do?

if you feel that your attorney is not performing legal services up to "par" or to your overall satisfaction, you should probably look into replacing him/her with an attorney you feel will do the job better. hope this helps.
