Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Joint Living Trust for co-habiting couples

Can a couple who live together and own a home together prepare a joint living trust. If so what do they call themselves. They aren't spouses, so if one dies instead of surviving spouse and deceased spouse what would they be?

Thank you,

"Co-Trustees"

There is no need for people to be married to have a joint trust, but there are additional tax benefits. Just try not to use one of the "ready-made" trusts or wills, they're written too generally to really be beneficial to anyone in particular. Better than nothing, but nowhere near as complete as one prepared for you individually by an attorney.
