Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
junvenile trust fund; blocked account info
My son has a trust placed in a blocked bank account payable at age 21. He is now 27, would like his money and need to know what paper work or what we need to do to start the proceedings. We know he will need to come to Calif., but would like to do the paper work before hand. Where can we find out what papers need to be filed. Thank you

Re: junvenile trust fund; blocked account info
It is actually quit simple to get a court order to release funds. If there was an attorney who handled the case initially putting the funds in a blocked account, he should do the paperwork and appearance for you free of charge as it is still part of the original case. If there wasn't an attorney intially or you don't know where he is, I would be happy to help. Assuming it isn't a complex trust account with special orders, I could probably do it for a reasonable fee and your son may not even have to come to California. Once the funds are released he can simply have the funds transfered into his current bank account. If you are interested in additional information, please feel free to contact my office toll free at 877-546-9918. I am based in San Luis Obispo, California, but I handle cases throughout the state. I hope I can help.
