Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

no next of kin named

Can the County Public Admin Office in some way aid in arranging for the collection of money for unpaid medical bills to a next of kin when NO next of kin is listed. I recieved a call from their investigator who by the way wasnt very forthcoming w/any info (last known address ect)but was sure to say that the rest of Moms effects will be photographed (why?)& I'm to then immediatly come to pick up & clean her area @ nursing home. In the next hour I was called by the temp agency I wrk for that i would have a 1/3 of my checks garnished every week(I work for minimum wage $9 pr hour) till the year 2089 to cover this debt. Is this for real?? NO will , NO next of kin, & a new staggering amount was handed to me ,OVER $100,000 from Stanford Hospital, she didnt list anyone for a reason, can the county do this???

Re: no next of kin named

You are not liable for her debts, period, end of story. Hire a lawyer to respond to stupid communications like the ones you recount. It will not cost big money.
