Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Is there a way to have a larger share of control in a co-executorship? I am now exectutor of my fathers estate, he is still alive an kicking... My sister wants to be co-exceutor, I'd like the help and support, but I don't trust her judgement, I want to remain having control. Is this possible?

You may be nominated as Executor in his your father's will, but you will not BE the executor until he dies and you are appointed by the court. It is solely up to your father whether to make such a change, but if you don't trust your sister's judgment, I wouldn't ask him to do so if I were you. You can have help and support of your sibling(s) w/o having them as co-executor(s). If your dad owns real property or has an estate of over $100,000, most attorneys would advise he should have a living trust so his estate can avoid the time and expense of probate.
