Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
An LASC probate matter. She died without a will, no spouse or kids. Public adminsistrator took all money from bank accounts and spent it, without being appointed by the court as the adminisitrator of the estate. Can they do that? The cost and fee statement seems inflated to me. Then an heirfinder company found me and I was appointed administrator. NOW the PA if asking for mroe money for their "costs"...this was after they took and spent all the money that was in the bank. I thought funeral expenses came first. Her friend paid $$$ to bury her and put a claim into the estate. But I thought the PA would have paid him when they took all the cash? I just want to know, HOW the public administrator's office can do this when they were never appointed by the Court? THANKS

If you are the administrator and you think you have a claim against the public administrator, which is impossible to determine without seeing all documents, you need to hire an attorney to represent you.
