Leagal separation and wills

My father passed away on 01/04/08 and was legaly separated in ca, three weeks before they slitt up he baught a new truck question is is she intitled to the truck even though she didn't want it at first?Though she wantes after i've been making they insur, and payments on it the trucks now because she found out what they were worth also ive been making the payments on them for the last two months please tell me she dosn't have a leg to stand on??????

Can't say. Too much we don't know, i.e. source of funds,how title to truck was held, nature of any property settlement agreement they may have had, . . . If you fiather didn't have a will, the estate will have to pass through probate under the laws of intestacy. You can petition the court to be appointed personal representative of the estate and then figure these things out with the help of a lawyer.

she gets some of the truck, and will likely have to reimburse you for expenses paid on her husband's behalf.
