Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I am trying to learn if an individual who is a resident of California, can appoint as an executor of his estate, a resident of Ohio or a non-profit company incorporated in Ohio?

If this is feasible, are there are restrictions?

thanks

Larry

The trustee does not have to live in California. Obviously it is easier to take care of matters if they do live here.

A person must be the executor, not a company.

Out of state executors will be required to post bond in some counties, even if the Will waives bond.
