Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Legality of will and time frame
Is my grandmother's will legal if only she signed it or did it have to be witnessed or notorized?
How long will it take for the will to be accomplished?

Re: Legality of will and time frame
I'll actually answer your question. Your grandmother's will
must be a holographic will if she is the only one who signed it.
A holographic will is one that is entirely in your grandmother's
own handwriting. If she just signed a written will or filled out
the blanks in a preprinted will, she must sign the will in front of
2 witnesses and it must be notarized. This is called a self-proved
will because it is signed in front of 2 witnesses and notarized. It is
automatically valid.
From your question I couldn't tell if the will was totally in your
grandmother's handwriting. If it isn't, it isn't valid under Idaho law.
