Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Life insurance

My great-grandmother wants me to find life insurance for her. She is 88 years old. But she is afraid that when she passes away, the family might be upset that she assigned me to take care of finding a life insurance for her and being her benificiary. We are also not sure if other members of the family have already gotten life insurance for her. Is there any kind of legal form that she can sign to let it be known that she is giving me her permission to be the benificiary and that she is the one telling me to find life insurance for her?

Re: Life insurance

In addition to you being on the actual policy there are a few options I would recommend. If she has other assets I would set up a living trust wherein it is stated that you are the beneficiary of the insurance policy. With a living trust you don't have the headache of probate that is associated with a normal will. You couls also have the life insurance company stating you are the benefciary and then have you and your grandmother's signature notarized. Good luck. Any further questions can be sent to me via email.

Good luck.
