Is Life Insurance Included in Wills?

My father died in 1998 and me and my sister are his only children. He remarried but his wife died BEFORE him. He supposedly left me and my sister nothing. My question is since he was retired NAVY (30) years if he had life insurance or stocks or bonds would we be entitled to any?

Contrary to popular misconception, children have no legal right to their parent's estates. If the parent chooses to disinherit the child there is nothing which can be done. This goes for life insurance proceeds, stocks, bonds and everything else.
