Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Why do living trusts use unit instead of percentages when indicating what portion of the trust each beneficiary shall receive. This is for a trust in California.

I do not know. In my experience some older trusts prepared by trust mills that were really trying to sell annuities use archaic language like that. I'd be surprised if the Trust you are looking at isn't 20+ years old. However, if you have 100 units, that's the same as using %
