Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

living will or trust ?

My grandmother passed last month, I

was told by her that myself and 2

others were in her will, since my

letter from her stating that my aunt

took control over everything and I

was told she had a Living trust and

no will, my aunt will not reply to any

of my e-mails or calls, is there a way

to find out if I do have any property

or monies coming to me? who can I

contact to get me headed in the right

direction? my aunt is a very sour

woman and will not go out of her

way to communicate with me for any

reason and I do believe I was or am

still in her will, I also have a letter

from my grandmother 8 years ago

telling me I was in-fact in her will,

now where do I go from here?

any and all help is appreciated

thanks so much for your time

Re: living will or trust ?

you will need to contact an attorney in WY near where she passed away and file a petition to probate her estate. This will force her to either come up with a will or trust.

Re: living will or trust ?

Send a letter to your aunt certified mail return receipt requested asking for a copy of your grandmother's trust and will within, for example, 10 days. If she does not respond, and assuming your grandmother was a resident of California at her death, you should retain a qualified attorney in the county in which she resided and file a petition for probate.
