Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

A man and I lived together for 14 years. Our families spent holidays with us or at my daughters. He was 77 years old and I am 90. He passed away a month ago. He didn't write me in his trust because he thought he would out-live me. He then decided he would leave me with $50,000.00. He liquidated some of his assets and put the money in his checking account. Before he could write me a check he died. He made his wishes clear even on his death bed. He has over a million dollars for his children to inherit. His one son is the executor and he said I would receive some money. I haven't heard anything. He never paid to live in my home until his last year here and he paid me $500 a month. Am I entitled to anything or to thie whim to give me some money if they want to. Thank you.

It doesn't sound like you are entitled to anything based on the limited information you have provided. It would appear that you were not married, so you would not take what is known as a forced share. You are also not mentioned in the trust, and any oral wills such as the one you mention are not valid in California. I do suggest you speak in more depth with a good probate lawyer.
