Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
I am married with 3 children. My husband has 1 child from a previous relationship. We live in California.
I provide 70% of the monthly income. If we were to buy a house and I would make the most of the payments. In the case of my husband passing, what would the stepchild inherit?
Also one day I will get quite sizable inheritance, I want to ensure that my 3 children are the only ones having access to that once I pass. How do I do that. I currently do not have a will. Thank you.

0, unless he provides for his child in a will or other estate plan.

Establish a trust for them. Nominate a guardian in your will.
What you and your husband need is some good basic estate planning. What happens to the house, or even the assets you inherit in the future, depends on how you hold title and what your respective estate plans say. Please feel free to call me to set up an appointment.
