Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My minor son's father passed away last month. My son is 100% beneficiary to his checking account which is approximately $5,500. The bank says I need a Letter of Guardianship pursuant to Probate Code 3401. I cannot find anything like that on the internet?

It is a Probate filing form. You should not need it if you are the biological mother. Banks tend to be sticklers for their own rules, but the proper persuation to their legal department usually gets them to follow the law and not their own ideas.
