minors and inheritance

My son is deceased and my grandchild inherited a large sum of money. I have a concern about my X daughter in law being made the guardian of her money by the courts which will surely be the case. Will she be made accountable for this money to protect it till the child is 18?

this depends upon the language of the will or trust. court supervision may or may not be required.
