Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My mom had two children from a previous marriage before she married my Dad. They lived with us a few years, then were sent to live in another state with their grandmother. They never lived with us again. Now, my father has passed, and now my mother. Who is entitled to her belongings? Are the children (adults now) entitled to any of her belongings or just her daughters from my dad? She left no will.

Her children would most likely have inheritance rights, along with you. There are special rules in Californa concerning children that are adopted into another marriage, but you have not indicated this happened. To be sure, I suggest you at least consult with a competent probate attorney.
