Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My mom died about 17 years ago. My brother is an attorney. He issued me 'partial distributions' from her estate in the amount of $200/ mo for one year. My sister is also a lawyer. She got the house which was valued at about 500k at the time(I think).

I've been poor all my adult life. I currently live in a motel. I receive $121/wk in unemployment benefits. My daughter is my only child. She is 14 and has special needs(ASD). She was released from the hospital today after nearly a week.

My brother on the other hand, bought a 55 ft boat 2 years ago. He has a slip in Marina Del Rey. My sister still lives in the house with her family.

Help???

It all depends upon what your mother's will said. If she provided for equal distribution and it does not appear that things were equally distributed, then you might have to seek court intervention. But, because it's been 17 years, a court might not want to do much because of the delay. You might speak with lawyers who advocate for people with special needs. Perhaps they'll take an interest in helping you and your daughter.
