Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My mom died about 17 yrs ago. My brother is an attorney. He issued me 'partial distributions' from her estate in the amount of $200/mo for one year. My sister who is also a lawyer still lives in the house that was left to us. It was valued at about 500k at the time(I think). She also got my moms' 2 year old Cadillac and who knows what else. I believe my mom may have owned additional property.

I have been poor my entire adult life. I live in a motel and receive $242 every two weeks. Additionally, I have one child, a daughter who is 14. She has special needs(ASD) and has been in and out of the hospital for years. MY brother on the other hand, bought a 55 foot boat two years ago. He has a slip in Marina Del Rey. We can sure use some guidance. Wm Taylor 213 618 2211

Once the probate on an estate has been completed, the heirs are given whatever assets and cash are theirs in a single distribution. Before probate is ended, the administrator can give periodic partial payments. There are no periodic payments as you describe. There can be such payments if a trust is created [such as a spendthrift trust].
