Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

my mother died in lahabra calif 3 weeks ago I want to get her medical records from her Dr. do I have the right to them ? the Drs. office told me only the benificialry could get them I am not that . But as her only child and she was not married, do I have the right to obtain them and where if so can I find the legal discription that will state this so I can show them..

Did your mother have a Will? The personal representative of her estate is the one who has a right to obtain the records.
