Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My mother dies a few months ago and my father is terminally ill. There are 6 kids left in the family. My parents estate is worth about 900,000.00. There are NO wills! How will the money be divided?

First you will have to go through probate and pay fees and the state of California since there is no will or trust. If your father is still competent in the eyes of the law, I would suggest he have an estate attorney do some estate planning to avoid significant fees and delays on a $900,000.00 estate. Following, the remainder of the estate is divided equally among the children. I would plan now while there is time if possible.
